Readington Township Scouts recently participated in Scout Day 2015 at America’s Grow-a-Row.

America’s Grow-a-Row is a Hunterdon County nonprofit organization that delivers farm fresh produce throughout the state so that New Jerseyans living without access to fresh fruit or vegetables can receive the healthy food they need.

Cub Scouts from Pack 182 and 1980 and Boy Scouts from Troop 1969 along with their leaders and family members were among 100 volunteers who picked 10,000 pounds of corn at America’s Grow-a-Row farm in Milford.

The harvest was donated to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey for distribution to hunger relief agencies throughout New Jersey. More information on America’s Grow-a-Row can be found at americasgrowarow.org.
