Volunteers from Prudential, located in Newark, and Bloomberg, located in Skillman, helped to plant 5,000 sweet potatoes and thin trees at the America’s Grow-a-Row farm in June.

America’s Grow-a-Row, which is located in Pittstown, helps to feed those in need by donating free produce to families and individuals faced with hunger. The volunteers spent two and a half hours thinning 4 rows of fruit trees and planting 5,000 sweet potatoes, which will eventually be donated to local hunger relief agencies all across New Jersey.

America’s Grow-a-Row, with the help of more than 6,000 volunteers, will plant, harvest and coordinate the distribution of approximately 1.2 million pounds of free produce to residents in need all across the state this year.
