Planting & Picking Produce for a Greater Purpose
Our amazing volunteers are an integral part of America’s Grow-a-Row. With their help, we are able to provide fresh, healthy produce to those in need.
Aleta Lambert of Pittstown has volunteered for America’s Grow-a-Row since the idea started as a small garden at Peaceful Valley Orchards.
“From the beginning, I have tried to fill in where there was a need, from planting, to watering, to weeding to harvesting,” Lambert said. “Our entire family has been involved with this great cause. It has helped all of us be more appreciative of what we have and has increased our awareness of and compassion for the food insecure. It is hard to believe that in a country where there is enough food, people go hungry.”
