We are happy to announce that our 5th Official America’s Grow-a-Row Scout Day will be Tuesday, AUGUST 27TH! We hope as many of you can join us as possible!

The event will most likely be held at Peaceful Valley Orchards in Pittstown starting at 9AM and run until 11AM. It’s important to RSVP so that we can get in touch with everyone a few days before incase the location changes. It’s impossible to tell what crops will be mature at the time of this post; that’s why the exact location is TBD. With a group this size, we need to make sure we have a lot of work for you so that we can take full advantage of all these willing hands!

We will gather everyone up in the parking lot and spend just a few minutes talking about America’s Grow-a-Row and scout involvement. We will then head out to the fields to pick. All of the produce picked that day will be donated to food banks, food pantries, soup kitchens, crisis centers, and other feeding agencies that feed the hungry. That’s a great day!

We’ll finish picking at about 11am or so and invite everyone to stay for a bit for snacks and drinks before you head out.

We do have patches for those scouts that don’t have them already. They are identical to the ones given out previous years, so please note on your RSVP about how many you think you will need. It doesn’t have to be an exact number, we just want to be sure now that we have enough.

Please RSVP no later than FRIDAY AUGUST 23RD so that we can plan accordingly.

TO RSVP: Please contact leena@americasgrowarow.org for a registration form.
