Volunteers from Custom Alloy, based in High Bridge, helped to harvest approximately 24,000 pounds of fresh sweet corn at America’s Grow-a-Row (AGAR) this past week.

AGAR which is located in Pittstown, helps to feed those in need by donating free produce to families and individuals faced with hunger. Around 40 Custom Alloy volunteers spent three hours picking and packing up the produce which was then delivered to local hunger relief agencies all across New Jersey.

Earlier in the season, employees from Custom Alloy also planted two acres of cabbage and also have been delivering free produce from AGAR to the residents of Camden every other week, that cannot afford, nor have access to produce in their communities.

America’s Grow-a-Row, with the help of more than 4,000 volunteers, will plant, harvest and coordinate the distribution of approximately 1.2 million pounds of free produce to residents in need all across the state this year.
