Governor Christine Todd Whitman visits America’s Grow-a-Row

Governor Christine Todd Whitman recently visited America’s Grow-a-Row (AGAR).

She spoke to youth visiting the farm for the day through the Free Farm Market program. The day at the farm for the youth includes lessons on nutrition and healthy eating, fun games, and the opportunity to harvest produce they can take home to their families and neighbors.

America’s Grow-a-Row’s goal in 2014 is to donate over 1 million pounds of farm-fresh food to various hunger relief agencies in New Jersey while at the same time educating people of all ages about hunger, the importance of agriculture, and healthy eating.
